Financial Reporting Manager

About the Role:
This role offers a hybrid working arrangement in our Vancouver office.
We are seeking a Manager of Financial Reporting to join our corporate team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and preparing the organization’s external reporting requirements and managing the monthly internal management reporting with support from the corporate accounting team. This position requires a proactive, self-motivated individual who is a team player with a positive “can-do” attitude. The successful candidate will need to possess the right blend of skills, experience, and attitude to excel in a fast-paced, international mining environment.
Major Responsibilities:
- Maintain and oversee monthly corporate financial reporting, including the review of reports and supporting schedules
- Review and approve journal entries in alignment with IFRS standards.
- Supervise the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual working papers by the accounting staff.
- Ensure internal controls are compliant with SOX requirements.
- Coordinate with external and internal auditors and other service providers as needed.
- Drive continuous improvement in monthly and quarterly closing procedures.
- Contribute to the preparation of continuous disclosure documents like MD&A and Annual Information Forms.
- Plan, organize, and direct staff resources and activities to meet high standards and tight deadlines.
- Operate with software like Workiva, Oracle EBS, and JE Edwards (“JDE”).
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) with at least 4 years of post-designation experience and prior management roles.
- Profound understanding of IFRS.
- Experience in ICFR documentation compliant with SOX.
- Background in complex consolidations for a global, multi-jurisdictional, multi-currency organization.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proficient in advanced Microsoft Excel functions.
- A strong work ethic and a passion for balancing professionalism with fun.
Additional Beneficial Skills:
- Prior experience in a public company.
- Familiarity with Workiva, Oracle, or JDE.
- Proficiency in Spanish and Portuguese (oral & written).
